The November election will be contested between incumbent Amy M. Thomas and Aaron Matheny.

SCUCISD has four trustee elections on the ballot, three contested, as well as a proposition for its voter-approval tax rate.

What will you continue to focus on if reelected?



I will continue putting students first by supporting strong academics, safe schools and responsible fiscal stewardship. My priority is preparing students for success after graduation while ensuring teachers have the tools they need. Every decision I make will reflect what best serves students, families and the SCUC community.



What uniquely qualifies you for this position?



My deep roots in SCUC—as a parent, grandparent and community volunteer—give me a unique perspective. With proven trustee experience, committee service and advanced training as a Master Trustee, I bring strong governance knowledge, fiscal responsibility and a student-centered approach to every decision, keeping SCUC strong for generations to come.



What do you see as the greatest challenge for SCUCISD?



The greatest challenge is balancing limited state funding and the growing weight of unfunded and underfunded mandates with the needs of students and staff.
