Ciera Wilkerson

Occupation & Experience: Special education inclusion teacher, case manager, SCUCISD alum and former teacher, campus leadership, volunteer

What will you focus on if elected?

If elected, I’ll focus on student achievement, trusted communication, fiscal responsibility, safe welcoming schools, and partnerships with families, teachers and our military community. I’ll champion clear goals, transparent data and listening sessions so every voice has a seat at the table and decisions reflect our community’s values.

What uniquely qualifies you for this position?

I’m a Steele High alum, former SCUCISD teacher and current special education case manager. I bridge classrooms and boardrooms, translating data into practical action. My leadership experience, community roots, and relationship-driven approach help me build consensus, communicate clearly and keep students first while stewarding taxpayer dollars responsibly.

What do you see as the greatest challenge for SCUCISD?

Rebuilding trust and a shared understanding of student achievement is our greatest challenge. Families, staff and residents need clear, consistent information about results, goals and what works. As we grow, balancing academic support, school safety and fiscal discipline requires transparent communication and collaborative planning across Schertz, Cibolo and Universal City.

What is something you want district residents to know about you?

I’m a hometown graduate who believes everyone deserves a seat at the table. I listen first, lead with empathy and communicate plainly. I’ll show up in classrooms, neighborhoods and meetings, to learn and serve. My decisions will reflect our community’s values: students first, safe schools, strong academics and responsible stewardship.
