Michelle Watson

Occupation: Medical Liaison

What will be your top priorities if reelected?

My priorities are strengthening public safety, improving infrastructure and ensuring fiscal responsibility. I will continue advocating for first responders, addressing flood mitigation and supporting small growth that balances development with community needs. My focus remains on transparency, accountability and keeping Schertz a safe thriving place for families.

What uniquely qualifies you for this position?

With proven leadership on city council, I've championed police and fire support, structured city manager evaluations and fair employee compensation. My experience balancing budgets, engaging residents and navigating complex issues equips me to make thoughtful decisions. I bring accountability, integrity and dedication to serving the people of Schertz.

What do you see as the greatest challenge for the city of Schertz?

Our greatest challenge is balancing rapid growth with maintaining infrastructure and quality of life. Aging water, drainage and road systems must be addressed while managing new development responsibility. Fiscal discipline and long term planning are essential to protect residents, support first responders and ensure Schertz remains a strong, resilient community.

What is something you want Schertz residents to know about you?

I deeply love the city and believe in giving back through service. I've worked to improve public safety, fairness and community engagement because Schertz is my home. I listen. I may be quieter on the dais but, I act, and I fight for what matters most to our residents, protecting our future while honoring our value.

John Carbon

Experience: Veteran, teacher, current planning and zoning commissioner

Occupation: Teacher

What will be your top priorities if elected?

My highest priority is honest and transparent communication. The public understanding the "why" behind a decision is paramount to together understanding where our city is growing, changing and adapting. My integrity will be my guideposts, knowing I will never make everyone happy...my goal will always be to foster understanding over agreeance...

What uniquely qualifies you for this position?

My willingness to learn, adapt and overcome. Change is ever present, and the ways we did things in the past cannot be the way forward. Moreover, my ability to remain calm in chaos…leadership is about people and the greater good. That’s my compass!

What do you see as the greatest challenge for the city of Schertz?

Schertz is growing ... we need more EMS services. Investing in these will be crucial to mitigating losses when disasters strike. Every good firefighter will tell you, it's not if, but when a structure will have a fire. Preparation …There are reasons we have tire jacks, extinguishers and AEDs in our communities...

What is something you want Schertz residents to know about you?

Home is a feeling not a place on the map. Schertz is my home by choice not birth, because it makes me feel welcomed, cared about and valued…that’s what I want to protect and care for. A vote for me is a vote for us.
