The city of Cibolo will have four City Council seats on the Nov. 5 ballot.

As part of city redistricting efforts approved in 2023, two City Council seats will be transitioned from district seats to at-large seats, meaning any resident of Cibolo who meets the requirements can serve regardless of location in the city.

What you need to know

For the district City Council seats, Place 1 Incumbent T.G. Benson will run against Jeff McGlothin. Place 4 Incumbent Katie Cunningham will run against Teresa Derksen.

Each of the at-large seats has four candidates on the ballot. Candidates for At-Large Place 5 include:

  • Norma Sanchez-Stephens (incumbent)

  • Steve Cooper

  • Christina "Bella Donna" Lichtenberg

  • Jenna E. Hicks

Candidates for At-Large Place 6 include:

  • Dick Hetzel (incumbent)

  • Donetta Roberts

  • Charles Ruppert

  • Malcolm MacLauchlan

While voters must live within the single-member district areas to vote for Places 1 and 4, any resident in Cibolo who is a registered voter can vote for at-large positions. A map of the City Council districts can be found here.
