At the June 3 meeting of the SCUCISD Board of Trustees, the board approved six new assistant principals starting in the 2025-26 school year. The positions were filled at Byron P. Steele High School, Barbara C. Jordan Intermediate, Rose Garden Elementary and O.G. Wiederstein Elementary. On June 24, the board approved of a new assistant principal at Samuel Clemens High School.

Andre Sierra and Joshua Lawyer-Jefferson were hired as assistant principals at Byron P. Steele High School.

According to a biography page for the new administrators compiled by SCUCISD staff, Sierra has a background as a high school educator and football coach and most recently served as an assistant principal within Comal ISD. Lawyer-Jefferson has spent the past five years in administrative roles, most recently at Hays CISD in Kyle.

Jenny Wray was chosen for the assistant principal role at Samuel Clemens High School. With 17 years of educational experience according to the biography page, Wray has spent over a decade in the district specializing in Special Education roles.
Robyn Pryor and Elvira Garcia were selected as assistant principals at Rose Garden Elementary School. According to the district, Pryor last served as an assistant principal at Serna Elementary in San Antonio, while Garcia has spent the last 13 years as an educator across multiple grade levels.
Rita Gracia will serve as assistant principal at Wiederstein Elementary School after serving the past six years as both a Special Education teacher and high school counselor. Kayme Tims will serve at Jordan Intermediate, previously focusing on leading testing coordination and supporting bilingual programming as an elementary school assistant principal.
