The Universal City location of Chick-Fil-A will be ready to serve sandwiches and sweets this fall.

On a July 22 broadcast of the Universal City public information channel UC TV, City Manager Kim Turner said the chain restaurant will be ready sometime in October. She said from the way the construction has been going, she would not be surprised if it was sooner than that.

Turner said that Kitty Hawk Road's increased development and a chance to be between Walmart and H-E-B locations was enticing to the national brand.

"We just managed to build ourselves up to fit their model," Turner said.

The chain has signature menu items like crispy and grilled chicken sandwiches, waffle fries and chicken nuggets. Chick-Fil-A also has dessert items like cookies and milkshakes.
