San Antonio-based Ancira Auto Group on Feb. 23 presented SA Yes, a north side nonprofit organization, with a $50,000 check as part of the auto dealer’s series of recent investments in local charities.

Representatives from Ancira and SA Yes took part in a press conference at SA Yes’ office, 7550 W. I-10.

According to a news release, Ancira Auto Group has recently committed $1 million in donations toward community organizations, including the Battered Women and Children’s Shelter, San Antonio Sports, San Antonio Parks Foundation, Brighton Center and the San Antonio Zoo, as part of a larger effort to support those groups’ respective missions.

The release said SA Yes provides free school supplies to local Title 1 elementary school students and to youth-focused community groups that need assistance.

SA Yes officials said over the years, more than $4 million has been invested through school supply distributions, scholarships for high school students, grants for schools and educational nonprofits, and access to books.
