On Feb. 17, the Bexar County Commissioners Court voted to fund ongoing updates and management of PlanYourVoteSA.org in the amount of $32,500.

Prior to the vote, Precinct 3 Commissioner Grant Moody expressed reservations about funding a separate voter information website. He said that though the site is well put together and offers resources, all of the information and resources are already available on the Bexar County Elections Department website.
“What I don't understand is kind of the necessity of having it in a separate place, because then we actually distract voters, in my opinion, by having multiple locations for all this information,” Moody said.
Moody suggested that instead of funding another website, the county should update and modify its own website to better provide those resources.
Precinct 2 Commissioner Justin Rodriguez said the original intent behind funding the Plan Your Vote SA site was due to the lack of quality of the county’s website. He also noted that the county’s election department has been preoccupied with running elections and that any updates would need to be done before the next election cycle.
“I think the intent is to make it more robust and integrated eventually with the Bexar County elections site,” Rodriguez said.
Precinct 1 Commissioner Rebeca Clay-Flores was supportive of continuing to fund the website and said it helps combat attempts to limit or restrict voting.
“With the attempt to suffocate and limit voters, voter registration, getting voters to the polls [and] trying to make IDs more stringent, I think [doing] as much as we can do within the laws to get the information out there and to encourage voters [is critical],” Clay-Flores said.
County Judge Peter Sakai also expressed strong support for continuing to fund the Plan Your Vote SA website.
“I want to also note my support ... as this not only is a voter registration, but it's the right to vote, and that's why I've supported you and your efforts to get that turnout. Let's give people a right to vote that is a constitutional right, and I'm committed to protect, defend and preserve the constitution of this country,” Sakai said.
The vote passed 4-1, with Moody voting against.
The background
According to county documents, Rodriguez, in collaboration with MOVE Texas, started PlanYourVoteSA.org in October, 2020. The website is a nonpartisan voting resource designed to help Bexar County voters plan and prepare for elections.
Originally created to address concerns over voting impediments during the COVID-19 pandemic—such as long lines, staffing shortages and polling place closures—the site recorded over 61,437 visitors in 2025, a 91% year-over-year growth from 2024, which saw roughly 32,692 total visitors.
