Shavano Park to hold FY 2025-26 budget public hearings 

Prior to adoption, the Shavano Park City Council will hold two public hearings to discuss the fiscal year 2025-26 budget in mid-September.

In a nutshell

According to city documents, the general fund budget is estimated at $7.16 million, with a total projected budget of $15.9 million for FY 2025-26. Other proposed budgets include a $2.33 million capital improvement fund and a $138,941 street maintenance fund.

The tax rate will remain unchanged from last year and, based on assumed levels of revenue, the budget will cover target expenditures for operations, capital improvements, equipment replacement and debt service, according to City Manager Bill Hill's proposed budget. The funding also includes a 2% compensation cost-of-living adjustment for city staff members.

The City Council will hold public hearings at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 8 and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at Shavano Park City Hall, 900 Saddletree Court.
