What you need to know
According to a news release, public safety and emergency services will remain open throughout the holiday as well as some general services.
General services schedule:
- 3-1-1 will be operational for urgent concerns, such as traffic signal malfunctions and loose animal requests, from 8 a.m.-11 p.m.
- Animal care officers will be on duty
- Code enforcement officers will be available for inspections and emergency coverage
- Downtown parking visitors will enjoy an on-street parking meter holiday
- City parks and trails will be open
- Limited Fitness in the Park classes will be held
- Select outdoor pools will be open on Memorial Day from 1-7 p.m.
Waste Collection services schedules:
- Garbage, recycling and organics will have normal collections all week
- Bitters Brush site at 1800 Wurzbach Parkway will be closed
- All four Bulky Waste drop-off centers, and the Household Hazardous Waste drop-off center will be closed
Open facilities and cultural sites:
- Municipal Court Magistration services will remain open
- SAPD's detention center will remain open
- La Villita and Market Square shops will remain open
Services closed over the holiday include:
- All San Antonio Public Library locations
- Animal Care Services lobby and adoption center
- The Darner Headquarters and Park Reservations Office
- City of San Antonio community centers
- The Natatorium
- McFarlin Tennis Center
- The Barrera Community Fitness Center
- Wheatley Heights Sports Complex
- All Metro Health clinics and offices
- San Antonio Municipal Court
- All senior/adult comprehensive centers
- Senior nutrition sites
- Child Care Services administrative offices
- Homeless connections hotline and veteran services
- City of San Antonio Street Outreach
- City of San Antonio Homeless Encampment Team
- Neighborhood and housing services
- Culture Commons Gallery at Plaza de Armas
- Centro de Artes Gallery at Market Square
- Pre-K 4 SA Education Centers and Corporate office
- La Villita and Market Square administrative offices
- Spanish Governors Palace
- World Heritage Center
