According to a news release, city officials will host nine in-person and one virtual workshop designed to teach homeowners about exemptions and how to appeal for lower property taxes.
Workshops will begin with a presentation by Texas True Tax, which will cover tax exemptions available to homeowners and how to prepare for a tax protest. Additionally, attendees can receive one-on-one help on completing forms, answering questions and filing on site with the Bexar Appraisal District.
Spanish and American Sign Language interpreters will be available on-site for simultaneous interpretation services. Some sessions will also be held in Spanish, Arabic and Vietnamese.
Doors open 30 minutes before each workshop’s start time.
