The details
According to city documents, the original $1.41 million agreement with Broussard Group contracted the company to extend the Huebner Creek Greenway Project from Floyd Curl Drive to Eckhert Road. The new agreement will add an extension from Eckhert Road to Leon Valley. Broussard Group will design the two trail extensions along Huebner Creek.
The project will build a greenway trail connection from the proposed Medical Center Park in the Medical Center area to the Leon Creek Greenway Trail System and to the City of Leon Valley. The contract amendment will fund additional design work, including a pedestrian bridge over Eckhert Road, landscaping and irrigation, drainage analysis and related real estate services.
The new agreement raises the total project cost to roughly $1.866 million. Funding will be provided through the 2022 General Obligation Bond funds included in the fiscal year 2024-25 Capital Budget.
