During its
Feb. 13 meeting, San Antonio City Council voted to amend Chapter 22 of City Code to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages at
First Tee—Greater San Antonio in Brackenridge Park and
Mac Wylie Golf Center located in O.P. Schnabel Park.
What you need to knowAccording to city documents, the ordinance institutes minor code changes of Chapter 22 of City Code, so rules governing public golf courses are consistent throughout the city. Additionally, the ordinance updated several sections of Chapter 22, such as removing sections of the code that have a city council approved management agreement, are outdated or are superseded by other sections of City Code.
Code updates include:- Section 22-1: updates to list of parks and park facilities exempted from the restriction of the sale and use of alcoholic beverages, and adds a golf expansion area in O.P Schnabel Park
- Section 22-33: Removes subsection D in reference to a curfew at Comanche Lookout Park as park curfew hours are identified elsewhere in the section of City Code
Additionally, the ordinance will allow the sale of food and non-alcoholic beverages in Woodlawn Lake Community Room at Woodlawn Park.
