The city of San Antonio will have a public meeting July 16 about a drainage improvement project happening near the Encino Park neighborhood.

Two-minute impact

City representatives said a meeting for the Sienna Basin drainage upgrade initiative will take place to inform community members and to get their feedback.

According to local officials, residents of the Encino Park, Redland Ridge and Redland Woods neighborhoods are currently experiencing property flooding in the neighborhood by flows from the detention pond.

This project will provide a diversion channel and funnel the runoff into an existing storm drain system to reduce neighborhood flooding from the detention pond.

The details

City officials said the project will cost $910,000 with the money coming from non-bond funding. Construction is estimated to take place from summer 2024 through summer 2025.

Project work is to unfold along the drainage channel between the roads of Amore Bluff, Encino Crown, Mountain Place and Encino Summit.
