Family-owned truck looks to bring peace and love through Filipino food in New Braunfels

Joan Guerrero, a native of Manila, Philippines, said she wanted to bring her culture and delicious food to New Braunfels, which is why she opened Peace.Love.Lumpia.

“We wanted to bring that taste of the Philippines to the area,” Guerrero said.

What’s on the menu


Peace.Love.Lumpia sells authentic Filipino food made by Guerrero's mother, which she learned while growing up in Manila. The locally owned food truck serves Lumpias, a Filipino spring roll filled with meat and vegetables, Guerrero said.

Cantonese restaurant reopens after 4 years in Cibolo

After a winter storm left millions without power across Texas in 2021 and caused infrastructural damage across the state, a Cibolo restaurant was forced to close.


Now, the Cantonese eatery has reopened to the public at a new location in Northeast San Antonio, over four years after the storm.

Naturally Cafe changes ownership in New Braunfels


Artisanal sandwich cafe, Naturally Cafe, changed ownership Oct. 20.

The details

Menesh Agnihotri, a seasoned restaurateur hailing from the U.K., will take the reins of Naturally Cafe from previous owners Mike and Destin Singleton.

Agnihotri plans to renovate its storefront, pending approval of a permit from the city of New Braunfels. He also plans on revitalizing the interior and adding new food options.

Scooter's Coffee receives Boerne City Council approval

Scooter’s Coffee in Boerne moves forward following the first reading of a Special Use Permit, or SUP, on Oct. 27.

The permit would allow for an accessory drive-thru for the business.


The coffee shop will be located off I-10 near Scenic Loop Road and Cascade Caverns Road.

The details

According to the meeting agenda, the development will be a drive-thru coffee shop with no indoor seating planned to accommodate 14 cars and have an escape lane. The building will have a walk-up window.

Olive oil tasting room celebrates 10 years in New Braunfels

A locally owned specialty food shop in New Braunfels is celebrating a decade of serving the local area this winter.

What you need to know

The Gruene Olive Tasting Room at 1641 Hunter Road is owned by Jill Hall. Hall said the shop will be celebrating its 10-year anniversary Dec. 6.

The business sells a wide selection of olive oils, vinegars and balsamic dressings, all of which can be tasted in-store for free.
