What’s new
The restaurant, known as Duck & Dumpling, offers a wide range of Chinese cuisine, ranging from spicy and crispy chicken to fried rice and chow mein.
They also offer a delectable appetizer menu, with dishes like cheese crab puffs and soy noodle salad.
But the real specialty of the restaurant is in its name—duck and dumplings.
Respecting the craft
Customers can choose from soup, boiled or steam dumplings.

“We make them fresh daily,” Manager Iris Shen said.
Steamed and boiled dumplings are filled with chicken or beef, but are prepared differently.
“They’re all similar, but it’s just a different way to cook,” Shen said.
Each method of preparation leads to a slightly different taste and preference between customers, according to Shen.
Main course
The other staple at Duck & Dumpling is Peking duck, which is slow roasted until the skin is crispy, according to Shen.
It’s served with cucumber, hoisin or duck sauce, and scallions, all of which are wrapped in Chinese pancakes with a sprinkle of yellow sugar.
Owner Yuchi Shu said that the restaurant is planning to open seven days per week soon, and is looking into expanding and opening more locations in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
