The Security Service Charitable Foundation on April 12 donated $2,500 to Endeavors of San Antonio, helping to nonprofit to buy beds, bedding, and cleaning and hygienic supplies for 50 local veterans in need.
Endeavors Chief of Development and Communications Traci Gomez said in a press release her organization has seen an increase in the number of unsheltered veterans. Gomez expressed Endeavors’ appreciation for support from SSCF, the charitable arm of Security Service Federal Credit Union.
“This donation from the Security Service Charitable Foundation makes it possible to carry out our mission and help vulnerable people, like the veterans we serve, get back on their feet,” Gomez said in a statement.
According to the release, the Security Service Charitable Foundation’s donation will help at-risk veterans who have been homeless and are now moving into apartments. In addition to bedding and supplies, the money will also help purchase hygienic products for veterans who may still be homeless, the release said.
