The backstory
“I never thought that I’d be making snow cones for a living,” Teague said.
Teague said she had been visiting New Braunfels for decades from the Houston area as an escape from the city and decided it would be a great place for retirement.
“We knew we wanted to move here full time,” Teague said.
But instead of fully retiring, Teague said she decided to take on the new challenge of owning a local business.

Looking for a libation?
The Tipsy Tuber, known for its wide variety of carry-out alcoholic cocktails and snow cones, sits right next to the Guadalupe River at 507 E. San Antonio St.
Teague said it’s a good spot for people to stop by on their way to the river or while walking around downtown New Braunfels.
The most popular items on the menu are the to-go margaritas and house-made cocktails like the Tube Flipper and the Lost a Flip Flop, Teague said.
After becoming the sole proprietor, Teague said she completely rebranded the beverage stop and added a significant number of items to the growing menu.
“I’m incorporating dirty sodas into our menu, they have been really popular,” Teague said.
Dirty sodas are made with a soda base and customized with different syrups and flavors like sweet cream or blue raspberry, Teague said.
She has also added food items like hot dogs in an effort to make the walk-up shop more family-friendly and community-oriented.

The local impact
While Teague said that becoming a first-time business owner has had her “anxiety through the roof,” it has been a worthwhile and fun experience.
“I went from the corporate world to doing something like this, and I love it,” Teague said. “I just want to help make a difference in the community.”
Teague said she wants to continue evolving the menu to customer taste and make the Tipsy Tuber a place where the community feels safe and welcome.
