Tavern on Castell, a new bar and grill in downtown New Braunfels, opened March 27 in the same space as the now-shuttered Downtowner Bar & Kitchen, which closed at the end of December.

Tavern on Castell offers craft cocktails and upscale bar food, such as fish and chips, soups, salads, burgers, brisket tacos, and more. The bar and grill is locally owned by Michelle Mathis-Lyons, Chip Lyons and Allison Wyatt.
