Developers with Oldham Goodwin broke ground on a new $40 million hotel in New Braunfels called SpringHill Suites by Marriott on June 6.

About the project

SpringHill Suites by Marriott, located at 738 I-35 N., is being constructed next to the existing Courtyard by Marriott hotel, as previously reported by Community Impact.

Arch-Con Corporation is the general contractor on the project. The eight-story, 150-key all-suite hotel will be on the banks of the Guadalupe River, according to a news release.

The hotel will have a two-tier, outdoor swimming pool with an amenity deck. SpringHill Suites will have a 4,400 square-foot event space, a 1,328 square-foot fitness center, business center and laundry facility, the release states.

SpringHill Suites will also have 14,000 square-feet space for food and beverage spaces, which will be anchored by Paloma Suerte. Paloma Suerte is a Fort Worth-based indoor/outdoor Tex-Mex restaurant. The hotel will also offer a breakfast lounge and a coffee bar, according to the release.

Notable quote

Tanya Pence, president of the New Braunfels Convention and Visitors Bureau, said the hotel will be a positive addition to the city.

"SpringHill Suites will be a welcome addition to the thriving hospitality industry in New Braunfels. In 2023, hospitality accounted for over 30% of jobs and had a $1.3 billion economic impact," Pence said.

One more thing

The project is slated to be completed in Q4 of 2026, Kay Davis, office manager at Oldham Goodwin's corporate office, told Community Impact.
