Clay Bock's fitness journey back in 2007 after becoming a personal trainer at various gyms across Central Texas.

“I’ve always been in the gym, starting when I was 12 years old,” Bock said.

Put in perspective

After years of coaching, refereeing and training, Bock wanted to bring something to New Braunfels that was missing—a gym specifically designed for boxing.

“Moving here, there wasn’t anything fully dedicated to boxing,” Bock said. “It was tough having to travel elsewhere.”

Let’s Bocks Fitness and Boxing was originally established after the COVID pandemic in 2020, where classes and training were held in the backyard of Bock’s home.

Then, in January 2023, he opened a brick-and-mortar at 1265 Industrial St., Ste. C. in New Braunfels.

“Ever since, we’ve slowly built up the business, creating a new community for boxing here in the city,” Bock said.

What’s special about it?

Bock said his gym is unique compared to others because of his accommodation to boxers of all skill levels.

“We have kids’ classes, four adult classes per day and an open gym,” Bock said.

Inside the gym is a variety of boxing specific equipment, complete with bags, gloves, headgear, free weights and more.

Let’s Bocks is also officially registered with USA Boxing, which allows the gym to host and compete in tournaments throughout Central Texas and beyond.

Why it matters

Bock said boxing is one of the most fun and engaging ways to stay in shape.

“When it comes to keeping body composition in line and creating muscle tone, it’s extremely rewarding,” he said.

Not only does boxing help with wellness, but it can also provide a way for people to defend themselves and gain more self-confidence, Bock added.

One more thing

Bock said he has begun growing out of his current space on Industrial St. In 2026, he said he has plans to find a larger space for the gym.

“We’ll be looking for a new spot next year, hopefully bigger and better,” Bock said.
