Dean Yeager said he’s always appreciated the holidays—from running a small rental decoration service to leading a mobile gift-wrapping business—he’s done it all when it comes to Christmas.

That was the case until Yeager said he wanted to open a local store that sold not just decorations but the best possible gift for everyone.

“I wanted to do my own thing,” Yeager said. “And since the excitement of Christmas was building up, it was the perfect time.”

How we got here

Santa’s Sleigh Christmas Shoppe opened in downtown New Braunfels in the summer of 2024, during what Yeager said was the “Christmas in July” busy season.

“It was the perfect spot for a little holiday shop,” Yeager said.

From there, the business only grew. From participating in yearly markets and events around town, Santa’s Sleigh has become a unique member of the Christmas shopping market in South Central Texas.

The specifics

Yeager said his store stands out because he has a large selection of Christmas Village sets in many different shapes, styles and sizes. There are also displays from movie franchises like Beetlejuice and Harry Potter for year-round enjoyment.

Aside from villages, the store also has a large assortment of tree ornaments, Christmas figurines, collectibles and unique gifts.

“We have decorations for holidays throughout the year, not just for Christmas too,” Yeager said.

Santa’s Sleigh Christmas Shoppe also has a mobile interior decorating service, in-store gift wrapping and tree decorating service.

Yeager said he finds joy in watching people find the “little treasures” and gifts that will be enjoyed on Christmas day.

“We try to get people in the Christmas spirit when they come in here,” Yeager said. “Every single day, except on Christmas, because we’re closed that day.”
