From a brand new pet salon to an indoor play studio for kids, these are some new businesses that opened in New Braunfels this July.
Blackbird Brims
The full-service custom hat studio is locally owned by Cage Patton. Blackbird Brims offers hat shaping and branding. The hat studio also offers suede, hemp and jute hat cords and hat ribbons.

The home-based pet salon—owned by Jennifer Sutton—will offer traditional dog grooming, including nail and claw clipping. Cat grooming and care will also be available to pets with good grooming history. Personalized care will be provided to senior dogs and pets with special needs like anxiety, Sutton said.

This free community event has family activities, food trucks, live music with the U.S. Air Force Band of the West and will close with a fireworks show. Family activities run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., live music from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

The celebration includes food, artisan vendors, performances from local bands, facepainting and themed character visits.

Wildflower Barn in New Braunfels plans upcoming closure
The Wildflower Barn had its doors open for over 20 years, according to an employee from the store.
What's happening
The store, which sells gifts, decorative items and furniture, is expected to close at its location at 1077 S. Seguin Ave. in New Braunfels by the end of July.
