What is it
Rebates are programs designed to assist NBU customers in implementing water or energy conservation practices or technologies at their homes, said Andrew Cummings, NBU’s director of customer solutions. The rebates are accredited to customers’ bills.

Demetric Herron, owner of The Purple Pig BBQ, said he started his culinary career after serving in the United States Army, working his way up from food tents to food trucks.
Then, along with his wife, Cherise, he took the final step and officially opened restaurant in November 2021, bringing the Schertz community something different—Midwestern style barbecue.

Herron grew up learning the Midwestern craft from his great-uncle in Indianapolis, Indiana.
“I remember looking at ribs that were the size of me when I was a little kid,” Herron said.

Schertz City Council selects design services for future $1.28M road construction
The Shertz City Council approved authorizing an agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates to design the 2025 Street Preservation and Maintenance, or SPAM, Resurfacing Project on June 17.
The project is the latest phase in annual street rehabilitation in the city, consisting of applying a slurry seal or new driving surface in several neighborhoods, according to agenda documents.
The design contract with Kimley-Horn and Associates is $179,180, with the total construction and design budget for the project at just over $1.28 million, according to agenda documents.

Cibolo Business Center to bring 60,000 square-feet of commercial space to Northeast San Antonio
A new development called Cibolo Business Center, located at 280 Weil Road, is looking to bring more commercial space to Northeast San Antonio.

Reinventing an icon: How the $550 million Alamo Plan will fuel North San Antonio’s economy
To reshape visitors’ perception of the Alamo, The Alamo Trust, state and city officials are working on major expansions to drastically boost tourism.
Jeff Webster, CEO and president of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, said the state projects that the plan will grow tourism at the Alamo by 56%.
The overview
Known as the Alamo Plan, a series of projects aims to tell the full story of Texas history. The plan includes reestablishing the original four-and-a-half-acre footprint, building the Alamo Visitor Center and Museum, the Texas Cavaliers Education Center and a pedestrian mall.
