A local art organization is celebrating six decades serving and promoting local artists in New Braunfels.

At a glance

The New Braunfels Art League, or NBAL, is recognizing its 60th anniversary this year, Vice President Gretchen Goode told Community Impact.

NBAL will host three special events to recognize the milestone which include the:
  • Two Rivers Plein Air contest, Oct. 13-18
  • 60th Annual Artoberfest, Oct. 27 - Nov. 15
  • Come and Gift It, Nov. 18 - Jan. 3
What’s special about it?

The NBAL was founded in 1965 after the previous year’s Wurstfest, according to the organization’s website. The art league specialize in contemporary art and offers various workshops and classes.


There is also a public consignment gallery on display. Members are not required to be artists to participate and support the group, according to the league's guidelines.
