Westfall Library reopens following renovations 

The San Antonio Public Library on Nov. 29 reopened the Westfall Library following an eight-month closure that involved maintenance and light renovations to the northside facility.

According a news release, the city is celebrating the reopening of Westfall Library with an array of activities, including a weeklong open house featuring crafts, programs, a historical display and an adult education center.

Westfall will have two programs specifically designed for children and families: storytime for children age 5 and under at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 30 and family fun time at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 3.

On Nov. 29 through Dec. 3, families visiting the library may enjoy come-and-go crafts, while teenagers may take up activities such as playing the ukulele, creating buttons or playing table tennis.

Adults visiting the library may take advantage of offerings from SAPL’s Adult Education Center.

Additionally, the library will host a historical display featuring photos, news articles, journals and more from the library’s Texana and Genealogy collection and an invitation for guests to record their own Westfall memories on a large commemorative banner.

According to the release, the improvements that the city applied at Westfall included new paint, lighting, flooring and a newly resurfaced parking lot.

The library’s reopening began a return to normal service for the Westfall branch. Hours of operation are noon-8 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
