A significant outage has affected Spectrum customers across Texas, leaving many without internet and cable services July 9.

Officials from Spectrum provided an official comment acknowledging the issue as well as a post to Spectrum's official account on X, formerly Twitter.
We are aware of an outage affecting customers in the Texas area. We apologize for inconvenience and are working to resolve as quickly as possible. Thank you.

In a following email, Spectrum officials confirmed the outages are the result of Hurricane Beryl.
"The outage is due to a third-party infrastructure issue caused by the impact of Hurricane Beryl," said the Spectrum officials in an email. "We apologize for the inconvenience and are working with the third party to resolve this as quickly as possible."
Reports of the outage began surfacing around 1 p.m., according to the Down Detector website, which tracks real-time outage reports, showing over 32,000 outages. The outage has impacted numerous areas within Texas, disrupting service for both residential and business customers.
In addition to the Spectrum outage, Down Detector shows a spike in reports of outages for Verizon and AT&T customers in major Texas cities, including Austin, Houston, San Antonio and Dallas.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office posted an alert on Facebook, notifying residents that those with Spectrum phone service are unable to call 911 due to the outage. The post also indicated a tower in Houston was impacted by a storm, which has affected internet service in the region.
