Selma City Council on Sept. 12 approved the fiscal year 2024-25 budget. The combined total of all funds in the budget is around $30.31 million, which is around a 7.9% increase over the budget from FY 2023-24.
The details
Assistant City Administrator Wyatt Agee on Sept. 12 said the budget will include funding for:
- Reconstruction of Retama Parkway and Alton Boulevard
- Road and pedestrian improvements to the southern portion of Lookout Road
- Stormwater drainage project in the Olympia Hills subdivision
- Comprehensive city parks master plan
- Three firefighter positions
- Replacement vehicles for police department and public works
- Remodel of rooms in fire and police departments
- Salary increases for employees
- Other city projects
The budget was approved with unanimously from City Council.
