On Oct. 29, Cibolo City Council approved an amendment to the sign ordinance which allows residents to have signage for events such as open houses and garage sales without the need for a permit.
What you need to know
Prior to the amendment, residents were required to have permits for residential event signs.
City Council discussed the removal of the permit requirement during the Oct. 15 meeting, where council member Katie Cunningham said 30 neighborhoods in the city that each have community garage sales at least two times each year, with at least 10 participants, would generate a need of over more than 600 permits annually if the requirement was not changed.
