Boerne Buc-ee's final plat approved by Planning and Zoning Commission

Director of Engineering and Mobility Jeff Carroll said the traffic study was approved Jan. 7. Carroll stated that the last round of comments required for the study pertained to the differences in roadways between the site plan and the computer model submitted.

“We just really wanted the model to match what was going to get built out there in the field,” Carroll said. “So, we worked back and forth with consultants to get that match.”

In the original plans for Buc-ee’s, there were additional commercial areas on the site. Since those plans were removed, Carroll said the traffic model had to be updated to exclude traffic to those buildings.

Public input

Resident Dana Mathis spoke against the approval of the plat, citing the reason as unclear communication from the city regarding property ownership, the progress of the development agreement update, the publication of the transportation impact analysis and other factors.

“If we are going to do this project, let's do it well and let's do it right,” he said.
