Fair Oaks Ranch City Council on Jan. 15 discussed the first steps of the process, authorizing Ardurra Group Inc. to provide engineering services.
The details
Rolling Acres Trail is one of the roadways approved by voters in the May 2024 bond election. The project will reconstruct parts of the road to reduce deterioration alongside the implementation of drainage improvements.
Project manager Kelsey Delgado said the design of the low-water crossing near Meadow Creek Trail will be presented at a later date, giving City Council the option of a five-year, 10-year or 25-year storm capacity option. This process is similar to the design of Ammann Road.
Delgado said the design for the project is expected to come in just under $500,000, and construction costs are expected to range from $2.77 million to $4.72 million.
The design phase is planned to take around 18 months to complete, with construction taking an additional nine months.
If all goes as planned, the design will be ready in the fall, and utility relocations will begin in the winter if needed.
Project bids are projected to go out in fall 2027, and construction is planned for early 2028. The proposed timeline is preliminary and subject to change.
