Through bond funds passed by voters in each city, these projects target major throughfares in need of reconstruction or expansion.
While the official start dates of the following projects have not been announced, each is anticipated to begin over the next year.
Ammann Road
The proposed project limits span a 2.17-mile segment of Ammann Road, between the west Fair Oaks Ranch city limits and the east city limits. The reconstruction will widen the roadway—the southern curve near the Post Oak development—to include a buffer on either side, drainage improvements and utility adjustments.
- Cost: $6.41 million
- Timeline: FY 2026-27
- Funding source: city of Fair Oaks Ranch 2024 bonds
Adler Road
The project will widen the street to three lanes, including a continuous center turn lane from Esser Road to Main Street, and construct a 10-foot shared-use path on the north side of the road with a 5-foot sidewalk on the south side. A roundabout intersection is planned at Adler Road and Plant Street.
- Cost: $18 million
- Timeline: 2026-2028
- Funding source: city of Boerne 2022 bonds, Kendall County, American Rescue Plan Act funds
Dietz Elkhorn Road
The project will reconstruct the roadway while adding new shoulders for pedestrians, bikes and carts. Construction will span from Fair Oaks Parkway to FM 3351. Upon construction start, the project is expected to take around 12-15 months to complete. Sections of the roadway are planned to be opened during construction.

- Timeline: FY 2026-27

School Street
The first phase will focus on utility relocation work, resulting in closures at the intersection for around one month. Phase 2 is expected to be completed in summer 2026, which includes the actual construction of the roundabout. Construction is expected to take approximately 10-12 weeks.
