As recovery efforts continue across Central Texas following the unprecedented flooding event over the July 4 weekend, donation centers and relief drives are popping up across the region.
The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce has warned the public of the presence of organizations “falsely claiming to represent FEMA or local agencies” in a news release.
To be sure that members of the community are supporting the right nonprofits, the Chamber recommended that citizens work with sources that can be verified.

In the Boerne area, there are only two verified donation centers and organizations that are locally-sourced, according to the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce.
