One of the final projects before the construction of Buc-ee’s was approved by Boerne City Council on Feb. 24.
The Suggs Creek Sewer Extension project will extend the 12-inch sewer main starting at Main Street and crossing I-10 to the Buc-ee’s development.
About the project
The extension is part of the 2016 development agreement with Buc-ee’s and will be at the city’s sole cost and expense.
In 2026, an amendment was made, specifying that Buc-ee’s would obtain bids for the extension and manage project construction, and the city would reimburse Buc-ee’s following the extension completion.
Buc-ee’s obtained bids for the sewer extension, with the lowest bid for the project being from Pyramid Mason Contractors Inc., at $503,376.
The engineer’s estimate of the probable construction cost was around $707,560, and the budget for the project was $2.25 million, according to the Feb. 24 meeting agenda.
Based on the bid and estimate, City Council approved the reimbursement to Buc-ee’s for an amount not exceeding $600,000, which includes extra funds for any unforeseen costs that might occur during construction.
