The details
The financial guarantees cover the first two phases of the Corley Road project, which improves the roadway near Viola Wilson Elementary School.
Earlier this year, Boerne ISD trustees advocated for the expansion of the roadway due to the need for a rear exit for the school.
In February, district staff said Viola Wilson Elementary was designed with the road expansion in mind, and that the district was confident the expansion, part of a development agreement, would improve it.
In April, commissioners approved a revised plan for the expansion, realigning the intersection of Corley and Scenic Loop roads approximately 500 feet to the north of the current intersection.
The project will have a future third phase, aligning with future development.
