Two candidates are running to fill the Texas House of Representatives District 122 seat in the upcoming March 3 Republican primary election.

District 122 covers a northern portion of Bexar County, including a portion of Fair Oaks Ranch, Helotes and Shavano Park.
Willie Ng is challenging incumbent Mark Dorazio, and the winning Republican candidate will face Democrat Shelly Nickels in the November election.

What are the biggest challenges facing this district?
Many members of the community have water quality and public safety concerns due to the Guajolote Ranch and the Creek Bend developments. Ensuring development is done properly and responsibly is a top priority. The construction and resulting congestion around Loop1604 is another major district-specific issue we are dealing with.
How do you plan to address these issues?
I am ensuring TxDOT has the resources it needs to complete the 1604 North Expansion without delay and am pleased to say that the segment from I-10 to Highway 281 will be completed later this year. I am also drafting and supporting legislation aimed at responsible development and clean water.
How will you ensure your district is prepared for extreme weather and flooding?
Last year, I was able to deliver Prop 4 to the voters, who passed it on the November ballot. That legislation dedicates a billion dollars annually to water and flood infrastructure. Ill continue to push and support good legislation that protects Texans from extreme weather events.
If elected, what do you plan to do to ensure Texans have enough water as the state continues to grow?
Water is the lifeblood of our state, and our need is only projected to grow with our population. It’s critical that we protect the Edwards and other aquifers, stop leakage, and promote responsible usage, and I’ll continue fighting for those things.

What are the biggest challenges facing this district?
Explosive growth is outpacing roads, drainage, water supply, and emergency services. Flooding, traffic congestion, and infrastructure strain threaten quality of life. Families want safe neighborhoods, reliable utilities, and growth that is planned responsibly - not reactive or rushed.
How do you plan to address these issues?
I will push for proactive infrastructure planning, accountability in development decisions, and strong coordination between state and local agencies. That means prioritizing drainage, roads, and public safety funding, demanding data-driven decisions, and ensuring growth pays for the infrastructure it requires.
How will you ensure your district is prepared for extreme weather and flooding?
Preparation requires mitigation, not excuses. I support drainage and flood-control projects, resilient infrastructure standards, and coordinated emergency planning. Texas must invest before disasters occur, protect critical facilities, and ensure clear communication so families and first responders are not left scrambling.
If elected, what do you plan to do to ensure Texans have enough water as the state continues to grow?
Texas needs long-term water planning tied to growth. I support expanding water infrastructure, conservation, and responsible groundwater management. Development should not outpace supply, and suburban and rural communities must not be left vulnerable as demand increases.
