Lecture: Seeing Mesoamerican Color with Kristopher Driggers

The San Antonio Museum of Art is hosting a lecture exploring the meaning and symbolism of color in Mesoamerican art. During the lecture, Kristopher Driggers, Associate Curator of Latin American Art, will discuss recent findings and how they have created new perspectives on color in traditional Mesoamerican cultures, such as Maya, Aztec and Zapotec, and their art.

Stone Oak adult garden focaccia bread class

Little Artist Workshop

The DoSeum is hosting its workshop designed for children ages 5 years and younger. Attendees will explore textures and create with colors. Children will learn about studio habits, such as caring for tools, exploring new materials and discussing their work. The event is recommended for children ages 1-5.

H-E-B’s Our Texas, Our Future outdoor screen

H-E-B is presenting a film series hosted at Hemisfair. The screening features a five-part original docuseries that celebrates Texas State Parks and the state’s wildlife. The film is in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Texas State Parks. The screening is open to all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.
