RSS FEEDS

What are news feeds?

News feeds allow you to see when websites add new content. You can get the latest news stories and features in one place, as soon as they are published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from. Feeds are generally known as RSS, or Really Simple Syndication.

Community Impact Newspaper provides feeds, and the most popular feeds are listed here. You can also access RSS feeds directly from any page on the site, simply add /feed to the end of the page’s URL.

How do I start using feeds?

To read our news feeds, you will need a Web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera or Internet Explorer, that allow you to add RSS feeds as a browser favorite or bookmark folder and automatically updates them with the latest content. Alternatively you can use a desktop news reader, that you can download and install on your computer, or an email software that allows you to read RSS feeds.

Once you select a way to read the RSS feed, decide which content you would like to receive from the list here. Add the feed by clicking on the RSS button, or dragging the URL of the feed into your news reader, or cutting and pasting the same URL into a new feed in your news reader.
