Round Rock ISD releases updated virtual enrollment information

Families intending to have their their children attend Round Rock ISD virtually must enroll and submit transfer forms by Aug. 9 at 11:59 p.m., per new guidance from the district.

High demand for the RRISD kindergarten through sixth grade virtual learning program has led to a tighter enrollment window, according to an email from the district that was shared with parents Aug. 5.

Previously, the district stated transfer forms for students who had already been enrolled at their home campus were due by Aug. 18, the first day of school.

Students will now be unable to transfer to virtual learning from on-campus learning after the Aug. 9 deadline, but virtual learners may return to on-campus learning at any time. The district's transfer form may be accessed on its digital learning website.

Parents who cannot access the transfer form online may do so at their home campuses before the Aug. 9 deadline.

The virtual learning program will be in place until vaccines become available for students under age 12 and will end shortly after, according to the RRISD website.

Virtual students will not be assigned a home campus or be eligible for any on-campus activities until after they return to on-campus learning.

Teachers will not be simultaneously teaching both in-person and virtually, as the district has hired virtual-only teachers.
