The city of Round Rock is asking residents to complete a community needs survey as it develops its fiscal year 2024-25 through fiscal year 2028-29 Consolidated Plan.

What’s happening?

City officials estimate Round Rock will receive around $3 million in funding over the next five years from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant program.

Of these funds, 70% must go to benefit low- and moderate-income people, while 15% can be used for public services.

To assess the community’s needs to develop goals for the next five years, city officials are asking residents to complete a survey detailing their priorities for housing, community services, economic development, public facilities, infrastructure and more. The survey will close May 30.

What else?

In the FY 2019-20 through FY 2023-24 Consolidated Plan, the city allocated funding for sidewalk and parks improvements, nonprofit organizations, a homeowner rehabilitation program and bus shelters.
