Two Williamson County bond propositions, a Round Rock ISD tax rate proposition and 14 statewide constitutional amendments are on the ballot for this upcoming election, early voting for which started Oct. 23.
The overview
Williamson County is asking voters to approve two bond propositions totaling $884 million.
- Proposition A: the issuance of $825 million of bonds for roads, and the levy of taxes sufficient to pay principal of and interest on the bonds
- Proposition B: the issuance of $59 million of bonds for park and recreational purposes, and the levy of taxes sufficient to pay principal of and interest on the bonds
Round Rock ISD is holding a voter-approval tax election, which, if approved, would ratify the ad valorem tax rate of $0.9190 per $100 valuation in the district for the current year. If approved, the rate, which is lower than last year’s $1.0626 per $100 valuation, would generate around $19 million in new revenue for the school district. If the proposition fails, the RRISD tax rate would be $0.9764 per $100 valuation.
