Round Rock ISD hires firm to lead national superintendent search

An Iowa-based company will assist Round Rock ISD in the district's search for its next superintendent, following board action March 1.

The RRISD board of trustees selected Ray and Associates to lead its candidate search with the hope of having a new superintendent hired in advance of the 2021-22 academic year. Former Superintendent Dr. Steve Flores announced his resignation from the post in November, and Dr. Daniel Presley was announced as acting superintendent of schools Nov. 30.

Ray and Associates is based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and has concentrated in national school executive leadership hiring searches since 1975, per a RRISD news release.

Components of the search including a community engagement process to assist with accessing qualifying candidates, the released stated.

“We are excited to get this critically important process underway,” Board President Amy Weir said in the release. “The selection of a superintendent of schools will have a lasting impact on the Round Rock Independent School District for years to come, and we are determined to identify the best person for the job with input and engagement from our community to ensure we are selecting someone who understands the priorities and values of Round Rock ISD.”
