Round Rock to provide free tree limb, brush disposal following winter storm

After a winter storm and heavy ice accumulation damaged trees within the city of Round Rock, disposal opportunities for tree limbs and brush are being made available to residents.

The program is being offered for in-city residents only and allows for multiple methods of disposal.

Bundles of tree limbs weighing no more than 40 pounds and measuring no more than 4 feet wide, 4 feet high and with a depth of 4 feet may be put out with regular trash pickup as part of the city's agreement with Central Texas Refuse. No additional signup is required for this service, according to the city.

Curbside pickup for larger limbs can also be requested by filling out a form here or calling 512-218-5540 with the fee for this service expected to be waived through the end of February. Brush no longer than 10 feet should be piled on the curb but is not permitted to block the roadway. Currently, limbs are allowed to block sidewalks. Piles of brush must have a 5-foot clearance on all side be and free from obstructions that are 15 feet tall, such as power lines and trees. Curbside services are expected to happen over the next several weeks due to demand, according to the city.

For those looking for more immediate relief from brush and tree limbs, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, brush may be dropped off at the city's brush recycling center at 310 Deepwood Drive, Round Rock, as well as the East Brushy Creek Regional Water Treatment Plant at 3939 E. Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock. Residents using this service must prove residency with a current city of Round Rock water bill and valid driver's license, according to the city.
