New Round Rock-Europe agreement could bring Picasso programming to city

Round Rock officials are exploring a new international partnership that could bring cultural programming tied to Pablo Picasso to the city, following an agreement announced during South by Southwest Conference & Festivals 2026.

The Round Rock Chamber of Commerce and the Texas-European Chamber of Commerce Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding March 13, establishing a framework for collaboration in economic development, cultural exchange and innovation, according to a news release.

The agreement explores the potential development of Casa Natal Picasso Málaga – Texas, an initiative that could bring exhibitions and educational programming connected to Picasso’s legacy to Round Rock.

Officials said the effort would also support partnerships while strengthening ties between Central Texas and Málaga, Spain.

“This collaboration opens the door for meaningful international partnerships that connect culture, innovation, and economic opportunity,” Round Rock Chamber President and CEO Jordan Robinson said in the release.

The announcement was part of the Malaga House initiative at SXSW, which aims to connect leaders in business, culture and technology between Southern Europe and the U.S.
