Company celebrating 20 years in Round Rock
"People think TLC stands for 'tender loving care.'"
Glyn Kennedy, owner of TLC Carpet Care, is leaning back on a metal chair in the office of his company. Speaking with a Southern twang from under the brim of a white cowboy hat complemented by his slightly worn black boots tucked under faded jeans, Kennedy would look just as at home on a ranch as he would cleaning carpets. Maybe more so.
"The name TLC is actually 'The Leon Chumbley,'" he says, speaking reverently of his grandfather. "He was the driving factor behind me who gave me my money sense."
That money sense landed Kennedy where he is today, the owner of a successful carpet cleaning business that's still going strong 20 years after Kennedy started it with just "a 1970 puke-green Caprice Classic and the clothes in the back of my car."
