The second wave of red-light cameras in Round Rock went live April 2 at five different approaches to some of Round Rock's most dangerous intersections.
Five cameras situated at three different intersections—most intersections have four approaches, one from each direction—were installed this past month and began issuing violations April 2.
The cameras are located at:
- Southbound approach to Mays Street/Hwy. 79
- Westbound approach to Mays Street/Hwy. 79
- Southbound approach to Hwy. 79/Sunrise Road
- Eastbound approach to Hwy. 79/A.W. Grimes Blvd.
- Westbound approach to Hwy. 79/A.W. Grimes Blvd.
The first camera was installed Dec. 14 at the southbound approach to Red Bud Lane and Forest Creek Drive. In January, there were 117 violations issued at that intersection.
