In a similar tone to Hutto ISD's district mantra, "Better Together," Hutto ISD Superintendent Celina Estrada Thomas is encouraging Williamson County unity and promoting district counseling resources during the coronavirus pandemic.
In an April 20 video message posted to Hutto ISD's Facebook page, Estrada Thomas said HISD is proud to work alongside peer school districts in Williamson County in encouraging community unity during the global outbreak. While each district is unique, she said that the unification of Williamson County, and its residents, is critical at this time.
"We are all experiencing a new normal these days: teaching from home, learning from home, social distancing, missing friends and family and community events that used to bring us all together," Estrada Thomas said. "We must remember that while we are physically apart, we are not alone. We are all in this crisis together."
Estrada Thomas encouraged those experiencing stress, anxiety or related symptoms to reach out to district counselors and health professionals for assistance. Since March 23, HISD students and parents have been able to request appointments with their school counselors during the pandemic.
