60 jobs, $5 million facility: East West Manufacturing coming to Round Rock

A new manufacturing facility is in the works for Round Rock following action by Round Rock City Council and the Round Rock Transportation and Economic Development Corp. on Oct. 22.

Austin-based East/West Manufacturing will construct a facility at 1974 Steam Way, Round Rock. The approximately 43,000-square-foot building is expected to be complete by August 2021, said Nichole Vance, the director of business attraction for the Round Rock Chamber.

East/West manufactures electronics, according to the company’s website.

The company will invest at least $5 million into the Round Rock facility and an additional $650,000 in business personal property, according to an economic inventive agreement approved Oct. 22.

The company agreed to retain and relocate 30 jobs currently in Travis County and to create 30 new jobs for a total of sixty full-time jobs over five years. The average salary for these positions—which include technicians, engineers and program managers—will be $50,000, per the agreement.

In return, East West will receive $225,000 in economic incentive payments, paid in installments over three years as the company meets performance targets, Vance said.
