Crews complete storm debris pickup in Richardson

All vegetative debris piles from the May 28 storm have been picked up in Richardson, according to a news release from the city.

The big picture

The city’s contracted debris hauler and collection monitoring company, Crowder Gulf, picked up the remaining vegetative debris piles over the weekend, according to the release. In total, 261,568 cubic yards of debris were collected in Richardson.

The city’s normal brush and bulky item collection operations will resume, and any residents with storm-related debris that was missed are being asked to request pickup.

What else?

Any debris pile that contained non-vegetative material, green newly cut vegetation or debris that could not be associated with the May storm were not collected due to requirements for FEMA reimbursement, according to the release.

Crews also began a final push to clear debris in neighborhood parks, and collection in parks is expected to continue through the end of August.
