Richardson shares summer closing dates for aquatic center, neighborhood pools

Richardson plans to close the city’s aquatic center and its four neighborhood pools for the summer by Sept. 6.

Two of the city’s four neighborhood pools closed July 31, and the other two are scheduled to close Aug. 15. Heights Family Aquatic Center, which is open from noon-8 p.m. on Tuesdays through Sundays, will switch to weekends only from Aug. 15-Sept. 6.

The current pool schedule for the remainder of the year is:

• Canyon Creek Pool will be open 1-8 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays through Aug. 15.

• Cottonwood Pool and Glenville Pool closed for the season July 31.

• Terrace Pool will be open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and 1-8 p.m. on Sundays through Aug. 15.

Due to a lifeguard shortage, the city of Richardson implemented modified hours for the aquatic center and neighborhood pools this season.
